Accessibility – All bodies welcome, chair yoga available.
Sundays, twice monthly, 18:30-19:45
The effects of constant ‘doing’ and chronic stress can really take their toll on our nervous system. This 75-minute class provides a dedicated space for stillness, rest and recuperation, as supported by bolsters and blankets we drop into deep relaxation. Taking time out to rest, relax and restore is an essential act of self-care.
We will share a short, very gentle movement sequence to prepare the body for stillness, followed by restorative yoga postures and guided meditation. Comfy clothes and even pyjamas are very welcome, as is your favourite blanket.
What is restorative yoga?
Restorative yoga is the practice of conscious, active rest. It is a slower- paced type of yoga with sequences containing only a small number of asanas (postures) held for longer periods of time. Props are used in order to support the body in positions of comfort to encourage deep relaxation. This relaxed state cultivates a sense of mental and physical calm and allows the body to rest and repair.
This class is every week, excluding the weeks we host our Sanctuary Sisters Circle – for more info on that GO HERE
